WHAT TO EXPECT

Your First Brazilian Wax

Your first time won’t be perfect, here’s why!

Our hair grows in three different cycles, this is why when we shave our hair is more dense, because all cycles are at the surface level at once. When we wax we’re able to β€˜sync’ the individual hair cycles, hence why we get slow, refined growth. It's completely normal to have some hairs left behind during the initial stages of waxing because of this. Don’t worry, it gets better we promise! It typically takes about three waxes on a consistent schedule (about every 4-6 weeks) for the hair growth cycles to synchronize and for you to start seeing more refined and slowed-down hair growth. As you continue with your waxing journey and remain consistent with your appointments, you will notice improved results over time. Staying on a regular waxing schedule, trusting the process, and being patient will lead to smoother, longer-lasting results. We promise it's worth it!

You may sweat and that’s totally okay!

Waxing can be considered a form of trauma to the body as it involves pulling hair out from the root, which can stimulate the skin and cause it to react by perspiring. Sweating during your wax is a normal response and nothing to be embarrassed about! We are here to reassure you and promise it is nothing to worry about.

Slight sensitivity, or being in pain, everyone is different, we know it can be painful. It gets better we promise!

Pain levels and skin sensitivity can vary from person to person, and everyone experiences waxing differently. Trust the process and know that it can get easier with each session! Waxing weakens the hair follicle and refines growth, leading to less discomfort. After your first you also become more familiar with the waxing process and know what to expect, you may feel more comfortable and at ease during each session. Consistency and patience are key, and with time, waxing can become a more manageable and enjoyable experience!

Pinpoint bleeding can occur & is a normal response (it’s actually a good sign!)

When hair is removed from the root during waxing, it is common to experience a small amount of bleeding, especially during the first waxing session when the hair follicles have not been weakened. This is a natural response as the hair is still attached to the blood supply in the follicle. It is a sign that we are targeting the hair in the optimal growth cycle for the best results in the future. The bleeding typically subsides quickly and is a temporary occurrence. As you continue with regular waxing sessions, the hair follicles will weaken, and you won't experience pinpoint bleeding. It's a normal part of the waxing process and nothing to be concerned about!

Inflammation + redness, it goes away I promise.

It is really common to experience some inflammation and redness, especially with it being your first time or if you have sensitive skin. This is a normal reaction as the hair is being removed from the root, and the skin may be slightly irritated. Don't worry, it won't last more than a few hours to a day following your appointment and typically gets better the more you wax. We recommend following our pre-care instructions to help with any discomfort!
